This single storey garden room extension replaced a conservatory that had all the issues that come with conservatories - leaking roof, too cold in winter, too hot in summer etc etc. The new super insulated extension with large floor to ceiling aluminium corner folding / sliding doors gives all the benefits, but none of the problems.
Clad in locally sourced sweet chestnut (that will silver as it weathers) and with a wildflower roof the new addition connects the house to the wonderfully mature gardens with its material palette. The central roof-light allows daylight deep into the plan and the new stone chimney stack and wood burning stove provide a real focal point to draw you through from the main living space.
